• Case の使い方

  It’s not the case.という言い方をご存知ですか？
  「（いつも）～とは限らない。」というような時に使います。
  今日のレッスンでは、こんな例が出ています。

  “In Japan it used to be that young people automatically respected their elders, but these days this is not always the case.”

  「日本では、若い人たちは老人に対して自然と敬意を払ったものですが、最近ではそうとも限りません。」

  この話題について、講師はこんな風にコメントしています。

  I wonder how we will be treated when we are old!

  そのほか、”case” を使った表現には、こんなものがあります。

  In case of ____ ：　＿＿＿に備えて
  In case _____ ：　もし＿＿＿ならば
  In that case：　もしその場合には
  Just in case ：　万一に備えて

  よく使われる表現です。
